Wheelchair Tennis for West Kent

Wheelchair Tennis playersOn Sunday 25th October we will be launching a new monthly Wheelchair Tennis session at the Indoor Tennis Centre at Tunbridge Wells Sports Centre. Two courts will be reserved from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. at each session. Tennis rackets and balls will also be available and we hope to soon have two Tennis Wheelchairs available for use.

The sessions will be lead by a qualified Tennis Coach

We ask for a £4 contribution on each attendance.

The following dates have now been set:

  • Sunday 20th June
  • Sunday 18th July
  • August - no training
  • Sunday 19th September

Wheelchair Tennis in East Kent

Looking through the strings of a raquetWheelchair Tennis is now available at Polo Farm Indoor Tennis Centre, near Canterbury, Kent.

The Squad meet once a month, for 2 hours, under the leadership of Coach Stuart Clark.

The Squad currently includes both manual and powered wheelchair users and Lisa Innes, our GB Transplant Games athlete comes along, when available, to support the Squad, as does Ian Payne - National Junior Wheelchair Tennis Champion 2009.

Two of the new Squad members have already gone on to compete in national championships, but whether you are a beginner or an experienced player, whether you want to just play for fun, recreation or health, or go on to competition, why not come and join us.

Further dates for 2010 have been booked on:

  • Sunday 27th June
  • Sunday 25th July
  • August - no training
  • Sunday 26th September
  • Sunday 24th October
  • Sunday 28th November
  • Sunday 19th December

On these dates 2 courts are available from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. for anyone interested in giving the sport a go. We have also secured 2 tennis sports wheelchair's, funded by Dan Maskell Trust, Kent LTA and Kent Disability Sport. and now available at the Tennis Centre for people to use

The members of a Tennis clubBalls and small size rackets are also available, but you might like to bring your own adult size racket, if needed.
