Outline of NGB's Club accreditation scheme
England Basketball, in partnership with Sport England, has a clear objective to develop clubs through accreditation and:
`Encourage young people to take up sport, improve their sporting talents and continue life-long participation in sport.'
England Basketball has set criteria for achieving Clubmark, to enable clubs to become nationally recognised for their development in players, officials and volunteers. These clubs will be recognised by all sports partnerships, Sport England and local authorities, amongst others. In addition Basketball clubs that achieve Clubmark have access to Clubmark 100 funds and they will also receive priority with regard other funding opportunities provided by England Basketball.
Any club that is equivalent to a two-star or above club should be working to the Clubmark criteria, with the club needing to be 3-star before they can be given the Clubmark award.
Assistance for clubs working towards Clubmark is available from our Regional Development Managers.
