Coaching

Kent Sports Development Unit is committed to working with a range of partners to increase the quality and quantity of sports coaching and leadership in the county, in order to encourage participation in sport as a healthy activity, as well as to help raise standards of performance and promote excellence.

Key elements of the Unit’s work in relation to coaching and leadership include:

• managing county-wide programmes of education and development for coaches, volunteers and leaders
• progressing funding bids to develop projects to train sports volunteers, leaders and coaches, within the context of the Kent Workforce Development Plan
• managing the Community Sports Coach Scheme in Kent
