Walk4Life
Kent Sport Leisure and Olympics working in partnership with Explore Kent, a Kent County Council initiative, have recently produced eight new walks to add to the popular ‘Walks for All’ series.
The first set of ‘Walks for All’ included 16 walks across Kent and were extremely well received with printed copies running out in a matter of weeks. The routes and leaflets have been designed particularly for people with mobility impairments and each leaflet includes useful information about the physical conditions of the route such as path surfaces and gradients. Details about the accessibility of facilities such as pubs and toilets are also included. With these facts to hand it makes it easy for the visitor to decide which walk will meet their needs and abilities.
The new walks can be found in various locations across the county including:
- Bedgebury National Pinetum (pdf)
- Knole Park (pdf)
- White Horse Wood Country Park (pdf)
- Clowes Wood (pdf)
- Leybourne Lakes Country Park (pdf)
- RSPB Dungeness (pdf)
- Jeskyns Community Woodland (pdf)
- Hadlow Easy Access Trail (pdf)
The new additions to the Walks for All series were funded by the Department of Health and managed by Kent Sport.
The new leaflets are available to download for free from the links above or by visiting www.kent.gov.uk/explorekent
