Multi sports and fitness club at Dover Leisure Centre

Every Saturday from 4.00pm - 6.00pm

Cost: £3.50

Club is for anyone with a physical/learning disability over the age of 14 years.

Valley Leisure Centre, in Folkestone, currently provides opportunities in:

Valley Friday Fun Club

Days of week: Fridays (term time only)
Times: 4.30-6pm (6-7pm Bistro)
Ages: 5-18yrs / 14-19yrs welcome as buddies
Abilities: for those with a physical or sensory impairment. Siblings and friends are extremely welcome.
Cost: Disability Sportslink Member £2.50 / Non-member £3.50

CoachingIFI Fitness Suite a 23 station gym featuring accessible equipment and facilities for people with physical, learning or sensory impairments

VLC Active - holiday program for 5-14yr olds for ALL abilities
 

Disability Multi-Sport Community Coach - available to visit you or your group FREE of charge, please call for available times

Other sports for a variety of abilities levels include: Wheelchair Basketball, Bowls, New Age Kurling, Trampolining .

The VLC is an approved pre–games training venue for visiting nations to the London Paralympics 2012.


Thanet

Sports Matters Thanet is working with local charity Beach Within Reach to open up access for wheelchair users to Thanet's beaches.

These new chairs, are made in USA and especially designed to give access over fine sand.

Four chairs will be located on Margate beach, two at Broadstairs and four at Ramsgate with potentially a further 17 chairs to follow at smaller beaches around Thanet. All the chairs will be available direct from the Beach Life Guards for a small returnable deposit and on proof of identification.

Thanet and District Sports Association for Disabled People

Thanet and District Sports Association for Disabled People (TADSAD) run a junior section for disabled children aged 5 - 11. The new club will meet at Ramsgate Leisure Centre on Wednesdays between 4:30 and 6:00 p.m. For more details contact Karen on tel: 01843 590614.

TADSAD also run regular sessions on a Friday evening at Ramsgate Sports Centre, and Archery training at the same venue on a Wednesday evening.

FREE sporting opportunities in Thanet

Sport for Change, a new pilot project has been launched by Skillnet Group to provide FREE sporting opportunities for people with learning disabilities in Thanet.  Working in partnership with Thanet Leisureforce, this is a two year project.
