Valley Leisure Centre (The VLC) has won the FIA FLAME Award
2009 in the category of Educational Club of the Year.
The assessment process for the award took 5 months and was over four stages. The first two stages were made up of the Centre providing information to the FIA usage and retention figures, policies and procedures, plans and other documents. The third stage was an assessment visit by Dr Paul Bedford, one of the most recognisable and respected figures in our industry. The final stage was down to the customers, both mystery visits and on site member survey of 50 customers.
The feedback that we received was very positive and many people commented on the uniqueness of the facility, combining education and community sport and also received high praise for the inclusive nature of the facility.
