Facility Development

Kent Sports Development Unit's work in facility development includes:

• Advising on the planning, design, funding and management of sports facilities.
• Encouraging increased sports use of education sites by the community.
• Seeking to attract facilities of strategic significance to Kent, including ensuring the development of County centres of excellence and centres of performance.
• Prompting and supporting key project applications to funding organisations (including advising on National Lottery applications)

The Unit works with a wide range of organisations in order to achieve the above.

New Guidance for Sports Facilities

'The conference on The Impact of Sports-Led Regeneration', saw the launch of a joint guidance publication from CABE and Sport England. 'Better Places for Sport' is aimed at providing guidance to all those setting up new sports facilities Follow this link for a Sport England press release (pdf)

Register of English Football Facilities Launched

The UK's largest sports charity, The Football Foundation, has recently launched it's unique Register of English Football Facilities (REFF) mapping and assessing over 90% of football sites in the country. The information is now available for the public to identify their sites at www.reff.org.uk
