Partnerships & Working Groups
SEPACT - South East Physical Activity Co-ordinating Team
SEPACT was set up in March 2004 comprising a wide range of partners interested in physical activity. The Terms of Reference for the group are as follows:
- To advocate and plan for a more physically active population in the South East Region
- To provide opportunities for practitioners to network and communicate with each other
- To agree the annual delivery plan for Get Active South East and monitor progress
- To establish and maintain strategic links with other government and non-government bodies
- To provide collective responses to national and regional consultations and influence policy
- To identify and pursue new approaches and lead change
- To support the monitoring and evaluation of physical activity initiatives and share 'what works'
There are also a number of principles & working groups:
Activity For All - Focusing on improving equal access and services for the least active children and adults, including those from deprived communities those with disabilities and chronic illnesses, older people and the overweight and obese.
Active Start - Creating free, inclusive play opportunities, supporting physical activity in and around school and the wider community, and using a social marketing approach to set children on an early active path, within an active family.
Active Communities - Levering a positive health and participation legacy from the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, improving the built and natural environment for walking and cycling, and continuing to advocate for local, targeted investment in physical activity.
Active Workplaces - Working with employers across all sectors to increase physical activity to, from and in the workplace.
Active Co-ordination - Working together, as a partnership of local, county-level and regional agencies, to lead change, deliver projects and services, monitor, evaluate, network, communicate and train.

Chances4change
Chances4change is a £5.6 million portfolio of 62 projects in the South East funded by the Big Lottery Fund Well-being programme. The aim of the programme is to redress the hidden health inequalities and improve the health & wellbeing for people in the South East, targeting 'at risk' groups across the region. The projects address one or more of three strands: encouraging people to eat more healthily, be more active and enabling people to have enhanced well being.

Health Trainers
Health Trainers are a nationwide workforce supporting individuals within their local communities. A Health Trainer offers tailored advice, motivation and practical support to individuals who want help to adopt healthier lifestyles.
Health Trainers operate from within their local communities, linked to a local service provider eg. a Healthy Living Centre, Community Centre, Children's Centre or GP Surgery.
