About Kent's Coordinating Group for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games

Kent partners from the public, private and voluntary sectors have been and continue to work towards ensuring that Kent derives maximum benefit from the London 2012 Games and onwards.

The Kent Coordinating Group for the 2012 Games established in 2006 eight sectoral task groups (working groups) who are responsible for thematic areas of the Kent Campaign for the 2012 Games:

  • Arts
  • Communications and Media
  • Schools and Young People
  • Volunteering
  • Sport
  • Tourism
  • Transport
  • Economic Development

Nearer to reaching the Games, partners have begun developing strategies regarding Kent’s ‘Look’ and ‘Feel’ during Games-time in the form of dressing, information, and a volunteering programme.

There is also now a Kent Resilience Forum 2012 sectoral task group.
