Young people in Kent are challenged to be 'Olympic Leaders'
As part of the celebration of 500 days to go until the 2012 Paralympic Games on 17 April 2011, the Kent Sport, Leisure and Olympics Service is challenging every young person aged between 9 and 19 to complete the Sports Leaders UK module ‘Teaching Values Through Leadership’ in time for 17 April 2011 for their chance to win some goodies along with their Sports Leaders UK certificate.
You will learn the importance of the values that underpin both your own leadership activities and those of the Olympic and Paralympic movement.
Here are some examples of how you can put your leadership skills into practice to complete the module:
- Use one of the values as a stimulus to create a simple Dance piece.
- Lead activities that teach the values.
- Create a piece of art work in order to show the values.
- Produce a 'fair play' award/charter.
- Write a story, poem, blog or newsletter to demonstrate the values.
All schools and youth organisations are welcome to complete this FREE module and if you register your details we will be in contact to let you know just how easy it is to get started.
