NATIONAL COVERAGE OF KENT CAMPAIGN FOR THE 2012 GAMES

Editing suiteThe Kent Campaign for the 2012 Games' communications and media team recently got national coverage from their work on celebrating 1, 948 days to go until the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games. The significance?

Well, 1948 was the last time London and indeed the U.K. hosted an Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. In that year the Olympic Torch entered the U.K. through Dover, and we asked through local radio and newspapers that Kent locals with memories of either that torch relay or attending the Games in that year, get in touch with us to share their own memories and take part in our Kent Film for the 2012 Games. That film will be available shortly on this website, after its 'premiere' at the Official Launch of the Kent Strategy for the 2012 Games on Monday May 14 2007.
