School Leavers ‘Get Ahead’ and work on the London 2012 Games
Ten lucky school leavers have the opportunity to play their part in the biggest show on earth.
The 'Get Ahead' programme offers those leaving school or college the chance to work at the London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG), with a competitive salary and pension contribution.
How it works:
Firstly, you will enjoy a thorough two week induction, followed by the chance to try out different work areas aimed at giving you a taste of at least two different aspects of what London 2012 do.
Once you have found out what goes on in departments such as Commercial Sponsorship, Technology or Culture, Ceremonies and Education, London 2012 will help you choose the one that suits you best.
As well as learning new skills from world-class people you will study with a local college, so you can gain a recognised NVQ qualification in a related subject of your choice.
What London 2012 is looking for:
- At least five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above, including Maths and English;
- Gained some work experience;
- Involved in community-based volunteering programmes;
- A passion for sport, culture and everything the London 2012 Games represents.
