Young People's Working Group
This sectoral task group met early in September to brainstorm its own priorities, as distinct from the other eight sector driven groups. With young people affected by virtually every opportunity, action and legacy planning activity around the Games, this proved to be quite a challenge.
The group is due to meet shortly to confirm and finalise these early priorities, but they are looking likely to be around;
- School sport infrastructure
- Sport leadership by young people for young people
- 2012 and the Extended Schools Agenda
- London Organising Committee’s cross curricula Learning Resources
- International youth camp
- Healthy Schools: the power of sport within a wider context
A Kent “update” explaining to school staff, parents and pupils what is happening nationally and locally to support school engagement with the London Olympic and Paralympic Games is in the process of being prepared, for distribution later this year.
