Look and Feel in Kent in 2012
With Kent’s close proximity to the London 2012 Games, it’s inevitable that the County will see masses of visitors coming through/staying in Kent. Therefore, it is important that Kent provides a warm welcome and is well dressed to present what a fantastic place it is to come to.
2012 saw the launch of the Games Time Kent Greeters programme (Kent County Council, Visit Kent and Voluntary Action Maidstone) which will aim to recruit up to 300 volunteers whom can provide an unforgettable experience for Kent’s visitors and residents during the Games, and provide them with helpful and accurate information.
Priority locations for Games Time Kent Greeters are very likely to be the main transport hubs and areas where we get most visitors. Please visit for more information.
As part of its status as a host county, Kent has secured funding to dress the County during the Games period. On top of this, many other non-commercial organisations will be purchasing additional ’Look’ items for their area to help Kent celebrate the London 2012 Games. Particular focus for 2012 dressing is being placed on transport hubs, the areas of high footfall and the area around Brands Hatch, the host venue of the Paralympic Road Cycling event.
