TRANSPORT - June 06 archive
Being
on the doorstep of London's Olympic and Paralympic Games inevitably means that
Kent commuters, Kent business, and Kent's public will be able to readily access
the thrills and spills of the competition.
To consider the opportunities, priorities and challenges to Kent of this, a "Kent Campaign for the 2012 Games transport sectoral task group" met recently, with attendees from Kent County Council, the Olympic Delivery Authority, Stagecoach, Arriva, Fasttrack, Go Via and the Dover Harbour Board. Discussing matters such as accessibility, travel branding and integration, as well as the individual implications for rail, for bus, for highways, and for ports, this group will next convene in the autumn, to formally consider the Olympics Delivery Authority’s Olympic Transport Plan.
