Young Games MakersThe London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) has now closed its application process for the Young Games Maker Scheme. LOCOG called on groups of passionate and dedicated 16-18 year olds to apply for these exciting roles through their generalist recruitment process.

Games Maker logo2,000 young people from across the UK have been selected to become volunteers who will work in roles which are vital to ensuring the successful delivery of the 2012 Games. The lucky young people selected will take up roles including Field of Play Assistants and Technology Print Distribution Team Members.

Sebastian Coe, Chair of LOCOG, has hailed the scheme “The Young Games Makers will have the same opportunities as our adult volunteers. These young people will get a once in a lifetime opportunity to play their part in delivering a world class event”

The Minister for Sport and Olympics Hugh Robertson added “The programme will provide a worthwhile experience in volunteering and gain a valuable addition to their CV”

Successful applicants were chosen through team selection events which have now finished.
