Rachel was selected from nearly 5000 people, through the Sporting Giants Initiative, to become a member of the World Class Start Programme. She is part of the GB Rowing squad and currently competes in Group C competitions. Rachel’s primary aim is to move up the ranks and be in Group A by the end of 2008 in order to progress to the second year of the World Class Start Programme.

» Joined the World Class Start programme in October 2007 and was allocated a training place at Minerva Rowing Club in Bath.
» Member of the GB rowing squad.
» Progressed to Group C from being a complete novice.
» Achieved second place in Group C time trials at Dorney Lake with excellent times, surpassing some of the times achieved by rowers in Group B.
