The Olympic and Paralympic Games Legacy - a learning exchange event with beacon councils

The event will be an opportunity to hear from the five councils awarded beacon status in recognition of their expertise and innovative approach to using the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to create a legacy of delivering wider benefits for their communities. Dorset (with partners), Essex, Greenwich, Hackney and Kent will share their learning with delegates with a strong emphasis on lessons and good practice that is of relevance to the whole country as part of our shared aim to spread the benefits from 2012 to as many communities as possible.
The afternoon workshop topics are as follows:
A. Employment, Skills and Business Legacy: London Borough of Greenwich
B: Delivering the 2012 Sporting Legacy; can we achieve change?: Kent County Council
C: Where culture ends and communities begin: London Borough of Hackney
D: Partnerships that Win Legacy: Team Dorset
E: The 2012 Education legacy; inspiring and achieving: Essex County Council
This event will be of interest to councillors and senior officers working not just in sport, but in learning, economic development, tourism, community involvement, culture and corporate policy. Places are £99 + VAT.
