2010 Kent School Games is coming!
The second Kent School Games, the largest school sport competition in the UK and possibly Europe, is to be launched the week beginning 28 September 2009.
Planning is well underway for the 2010 Kent School Games which is to involve 12 NEW sporting activities not competed in at the first Games, as well as five demonstration sports that will include Cheerleading, limited overs Cricket, and Rock Climbing. With a total of 38 sporting activities the event has expanded enormously since the 2008 Games!
Local heats and trials will commence in the 13 School Sports Partnerships from October 2009, running through until May 2010. Primary School heats and trials will be organised through school sport partnerships’ Partnership Development Managers. Secondary school heats and trials will be co-ordinated through the Competition Managers and Directors of Sport at the County’s 15 Specialist Sports Colleges.
Finals events will begin the week commencing 7th June 2010 and run through until Sunday 4th July 2010, comprising 10 exciting event days that will use 13 excellent venues. It is estimated that 6,000 competitors will attend the Kent School Games Finals days in 2010.
The Kent School Games consists of three distinct competitions:
- Primary School Games
- Disability Games
- Secondary School Games
