Olympic Park is ‘Virtually’ Completed!
With work now well underway at all of the Olympic venues across the UK, you are now able to take site tours even before they are completed!
Virtual Tours of the Olympic Park in Stratford are available on the London 2012 website, providing a fascinating insight into the development of the venue. You can take tours as far back as December 2008 to get a sense of the progress made and the scale of the arena once completed in 2011.
The viewpoint is taken from the centre of the Olympic Stadium and provides a wonderful sense of what members of Team GB will be feeling when they compete at the 2012 Games! Information on aspects of construction and where things will be within the stadium once completed are also available at the click of a button.
London 2012 announced in July that the Games remain on time and within budget, with the outer shell of the Olympic Stadium now complete just fourteen months after construction started. The latest quarterly report from the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) anticipates final cost will remain at just over £7billion!
You are also able to view webcams of the site, or look at the latest venue images taken from the Olympic Park.
