London 2012’s visit to Kent Show July 2007

Left to Right: Hugh Robertson (MP for Faversham & Mid Kent and Shadow Sports & Olympics Spokesman), Chris Hespe (Head of Sports Leisure & Olympics, Kent County Council), Keith Mills (Deputy Chair of LOCOG), Mike Hill (Cabinet Member for Community Services, Kent County Council) The London 2012 Roadshow visited Kent on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 July, bringing with it Keith Mills (Deputy Chairman LOCOG), Steve Backley (Commonwealth Gold, Olympic and World Silver medallist in Javelin) and the National Lottery Dream Statistics 'zone'. Dame Kelly Holmes also visited the Kent 2012 area, where there were shows and workshops including Bhangra, Football, Basketball, Sitting Volleyball, African Dance and Drumming, and Extreme Mountain Biking. An estimated 3,000 members of the public visited the Kent 2012 marquee to learn more about Kent’s Olympic and Paralympic-inspired ambitions.
