New Olympic kid on the international block

DebrecenThe International Olympic Committee has announced that starting in 2010 there will be now a youth Olympic Games, alternating every two years from a nine day Winter Youth Olympics to a twelve day Summer Youth Olympics. They will run in opposite seasons to the adult Games, so that, for example, a Summer Youth Olympics will take place at the same time as a Winter Adult Olympics.

Current bidders for 2010 are Algiers, Athens, Bangkok, Belgrade, Debrecen, Guatemala City, Kuala Lumpur, Moscow, Poznan, Singapore and Turin.
