Kent Campaign simplifying sponsorship of talented and keen community athletes

It has been agreed by the Kent 2012 Sport sectoral task group that to simplify the process in this run-up period to the Games, and no reason not beyond, that three Trusts will take on the management of smaller funds/sponsorship of athletes, within the county. This should be of particular benefit to smaller businesses and business groups who are keen to get involved with supporting local athletes, but might not know how best to go about this. The three Trusts will be Kent Trust for Youth Sport, Cornwallis Fund, and Sports Aid. An information sheet on the criteria of each is being pulled together into one document, to make it easier for organisations to choose which one best could manage their 'pot' or funding allocation. Organisations could then require that only athletes meeting their own specified criteria e.g. a geographical focus, can bid for funding from the pot that would sit within the chosen Trust's administration. The document will be made available at www.kentsport.org shortly.
