Kent schools’ Signing Up to the Values Day

DanceAs noted elsewhere, 17 September sees the launch of the London 2012 learning programme. In Kent, we are intending to launch our Kent Schools’ 20 in 12 learning programme on this day, a programme to use the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to inspire the delivery of the curriculum and pre-school activity.

The programme will be launched through a Kent ‘Signing up to the Values’ day, where young people across all our 600 schools will sign up to the Olympic and Paralympic values of Excellence, Friendship, Respect, Determination, Inspiration, Courage and Equality. This will be creatively recorded through poetry, dance and photography, with young people from the County’s Arts Colleges designing the ‘charter’ and supporting the creative recording of the day.

The creative material collected from this day will then be showcased at County Hall, and to London 2012, demonstrating that all of the County’s young people have been inspired by the ‘magic’ of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
