Kent Welcomes the Olympic Torch

‘Pass the Passion’

‘Pass the Passion’ is the young people’s element of Kent’s Campaign for the Olympic Torch to arrive into the UK at Dover. The name ‘Pass the Passion’ was chosen at a conference in April 2008 involving 120 young people from primary and secondary schools across Dover. As part of that event the pupils also wrote the lyrics for the ‘Pass the Passion’ song which is being taught to schools across Dover, Deal and Sandwich.

Phase two of Pass the Passion saw the Schools Olympic Torch Relay and the design and creation of Schools Torch Mural taking place over Autumn 2009.

‘Pass the Passion’ is a partnership which is led by Kent County Council’s Sport, Leisure and Olympic service, involving Kent Extended Services, Vista Leisure, Sea Change, Music for Change and all 52 schools across Dover, Deal and Sandwich.
