What's it all about?
In
the last 10 years football has gone through a period of rapid and
significant change. During this period it has remained the most
popular team sport in England .
In Kent alone over 44,000 people participate in grass roots football every week. There are 1,140 clubs registered with the KCFA over 1,150 referees and nearly 3,200 teams.
The game is accessible to all irrespective of age, race, gender and disability.
Taking part
The
majority of Football takes place at local clubs or schools but there
are also many community facilities and leisure centres that may
host football training sessions. For local authority sports information

Structure of the Sport
Football is governed nationally by the English Football Association. The FA National Game Strategy 2008-12 sets out The FA's vision for developing grass roots football across England, with The Kent County Football Association (KCFA) playing an integral role. The responsibility for administering the game at local level is shared by 43 County Associations together with the Services and Amateur Associations.
The KCFA aims to establish safe and structured football opportunities for the benefit of all concerned irrespective of age, colour, gender and disability. The KCFA aim to provide the appropriate structures and systems to enable the association to control, manage, regulate and promote the game within the County.
We also have a Kent Schools' Association which oversees all school competition.
