Disability Football
What's it all about?
In
many ways, Kent is leading the way in the development of Football
for disabled people.
The Kent County Football Association is committed to providing Football opportunities for all, regardless of their age, gender, race or ability.
We have an extensive Football development programme in the County which caters for players of all levels and abilities. We aim to assist and develop clubs to be more inclusive in their approach to Football.
There are currently two powered wheelchair Football teams in operation: one based at Chatham Grammar School for Girls in Gillingham - Invicta PFC- and one based at Valence Special School, in Westerham, Kent.
New resources available - the Football Association and Time to Change have produced a toolkit for mental health and Football.
Time to Change is a national campaign to promote the inclusion of people with mental health problems.
The online toolkit includes top tips, videos and best practice guides. It contains:
- An introduction to mental health
- Information for grassroots clubs
- A guide to setting up new sport and mental health projects
- A guide to delivering new mental health projects
- Additional sources of help and information.
