Our Mission
Kent County Council's Sports Development Unit is the
first point of call for all your sporting needs in Kent. The Unit develops
sport, provides a focus for sports issues and ensures that the best use
is made of resources in the County. Much of its work is in partnership
with an enormous network of organisations and individuals comprising 600
schools, 15,000 voluntary sports clubs, governing bodies of sport, sports
associations, government agencies, local authorities, coaches and performers.

Principle:
- The Unit develops sport in Kent by supporting, working
with and through a large number of partner organisations, concentrating
on the Development of Facilities, Strategy and Planning, Performance
and Excellence, Coaching, Disability Sport and School Sport; and Raising
Funds, Enhancing Communication and Developing and Managing Events.
- In its work, the Unit seeks to develop sustainable
sports opportunities through innovative practices and is conscious of
the economic, social, educational and health benefits of sport.
- The Unit aims to be recognised within Kent, the Region
and Nationally as a proactive, dynamic, highly professional and successful
organisation delivering high quality, customer focused services in addition
to providing general coordinating, networking and communicating services.
