A MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) was signed on Tuesday 21 September between Tonbridge School, Kent County Council and Athletics Australia who announced that the Team's final camp will be held at the school in 2012.
Athletics Australia will field approximately 40 athletes at London 2012 and is aiming for six medals. Team Australia will look to cement its top 10 ranking.
Signing of the agreement was by Rob Fildes, President of Athletics Australia, Eric Hollingsworth, High Performance Director of the Australian Performance Team, Tim Haynes, Headmaster of Tonbridge School and Mike Hill (OBE), KCC Cabinet Member for Communicty Services.
Also present and supporting the event was Lord Moynihan, Director of LOCOG and Chair of the British Olympic Association and Dame Kelly Holmes.
This is Kent's fourth Pre-Games Training Camp signing and the County now has more deals with nations for 2012 than any other County in the UK: more than Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, and London itself.
