The GB Boccia Federation (GBBF)
are offering a unique opportunity to play a leading role in the development
of elite Boccia in Great Britain. The recently
established Governing Body for the GBBF is currently seeking to appoint
a Performance Manager who can help shape the future of the elite programme;
from the coaching programme to event structure. This is a rare opportunity
for someone with a successful track record in high performance sport
who wants to ‘make a real difference’.
The successful candidate will:
Lead the GBBF Elite programme, including the implementation of the
GBBF World Class Pathway Plan.
Be responsible for the GBBF elite coaching team and development of
high performance regional centres.
Work closely with key stakeholders and partners such as BPA and UK
Sport.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
Proven experience of working with athletes and coaches, including
devising and implementing successful coaching programmes and/or talent
programmes.
Proven leadership and decision making skills, excellent interpersonal
and communication skills, sound organisational and planning skills,
complemented by attention to detail.
An understanding of the challenges of the elite disability sport environment
and a commitment to affecting positive change and challenging the
status quo where required.
The successful candidate should have:
A desire to shape the future of GB Boccia by maximising
the opportunity of starting with a ‘blank canvas’.
Performance coaching experience at an international level.
Proven experience of working within an integrated programme environment.
Knowledge & understanding of the technical, tactical skills and
fitness levels required for disabled athletes to succeed at world
class level sport.

General Information
Salary: £35k - £45k A fixed term contract
to 31st March 2013
(Subject to continued funding of the programme and annual review at
a level that enables GBBF to support this post after 31st March 2009)
