Congratulations to Rising Star - Candy Hawkins
Candy has made an impressive comeback to her Athletics career after taking time off to have a baby boy ten months ago! After starting her season in February 2009 and gaining a silver medal at the Kent Indoor Championships for the 1500m, Candy went on to win a gold medal for the 5000m at the Stoke-on-Trent Open Meeting in April this year and at the same time achieved the qualifying time for the 5000m for selection to the Deaflympics in Taipei in September 2009. Candy is also aiming to achieve the qualifying time for the 1500m in between her hectic schedule of looking after her new arrival. Follow this link to find out more about athletics
