Girls’ Cricket Development Course - 8-13 Year Olds

Kent U19 Girls skipper Natalie Lane

The Kent Cricket Board is pleased to welcome young girls to enrol on this special indoor, four week course starting in the new year.

“This new style course involves much more than pure cricket skills,” says David Sear, Kent Cricket Development Officer. “There will be lots of activity which we call ‘FUNdamentals’ – movement, co-ordination and body awareness, as well as striking and fielding games. It’s all part of a new approach to the long term development of future cricketers. The emphasis is on FUN and it is aimed particularly at the young.”

Girls may come with friends and it does not matter how experienced they are – clubs, players and beginners – all are welcome. Soft balls and Kwik Cricket equipment will be used

There are many more opportunities for girls to play cricket nowadays, and girls who show potential may also be invited to join the Kent Under 11 and Under 13 squad coaching.
