A Golden Opportunity for Students at Canterbury High School!
A team of ten students from Canterbury High School have been selected to volunteer at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
This is a great achievement as the students from years 11 - 13 were selected from a vast number of applications received by organisers to attend the selection event at the London 2012 headquarters. This was part of the Young Games Maker programme and students had to complete a number of different tasks.
After a nail-biting couple of weeks, confirmation was received that the team has been successful and will be part of the Paralympics Test event and the Paralympics Athletics event. Their main role will be kit carrying, so the students will have the advantage of being up close with the athletes and will really be part of the Olympic and Paralympic ideal.
