Promote Running in Kent

Group of runners An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone with good communication and interpersonal skills to co-ordinate a new project to grow the informal running market for beginners in Kent.

University of Kent, in partnership with Kent Sport is pleased to offer this new position. Funded by Sport England, we are seeking to recruit a dedicated Activator to work with partners, including Run England and the Kent Athletics Network, to lead on the recruitment of new running group leaders and runners, training leaders, setting up / expanding running groups and overseeing a marketing campaign to achieve this.

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate experience of delivering promotional / marketing activities, and planning, co-ordinating and supporting a wide range of programmes. A passion for providing running for all along with the ability to motivate others will be key.

Hot desking will be available at the University of Kent in Canterbury and also at the Kent Sport, Leisure & Olympics Service in Kings Hill. The work will require travel throughout Kent and Medway and therefore candidates will need their own transport. This is a part time (21 hours per week) position to March 2013, with an immediate start. The post is subject to an enhanced CRB check.

Salary: £20,409 to £22,971 per annum (pro rata for 21 hours per week).
