Free Sports Leadership courses in Swale and Thanet and Tutor Training comes to Kent

Young sports leadersAs part of their activeyouth project Kent Youth has two Level 2 courses coming up that are FREE to attend for those aged 16-25 years.

The Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership is a nationally recognised qualification that enables successful candidates to independently lead small groups of people in sport and recreational activities. The qualification teaches generic leadership skills such as organisation, planning, communication and teamwork through the medium of sport. It is a fun and practical qualification with no entrance requirements or final examinations to sit.

The courses are:

  • Tuesday 1st- Friday 4th June (half term) will be hosted in Swale at the Gateway Centre in Queenborough, Isle of Sheppey, ME11 5HX from 10am-4.30pm for all four days plus one day of first aid (probably hosted on a Saturday later on in the month).
  • Monday 7th- Friday 11th June will be hosted in Thanet working with Thanet District Council at Ramsgate Sports Centre, from 10.30am-4pm.

Kent Youth can pay for travel to and from the course so it won’t cost anything!

A Sports Leaders UK Tutor Training Day is being hosted at The Stour Centre in Ashford on Friday July 9th.

This all day course will cover the Level 1 Award in Sports Leadership and the Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership. Cost to attend is £110.00 per person, including lunch.
