The Sport, Leisure & Olympics Service has teamed up with The Great Outdoor Gym Company to promote outdoor gyms and London 2012 approved 'Adizones' to organisations within the County as a means to enhance health and increase the levels of physical activity in Kent.

The Sport, Leisure and Olympics service has negotiated a discount on the cost of outdoor gyms whenever the purchaser cites a particular code. This discount is available for any purchases within Kent. The promotion of outdoor gyms is very timely because:

• compared to other facilities, they are relatively inexpensive to purchase and do not require day-to-day supervision
• they are free for the public to use and don't require people to purchase a gym membership
• they can be positioned in areas where there are high levels of inactivity and therefore can make a great contribution to enhancing public health and well-being

The Great Outdoor Gym Company has installed more than 230 of these outdoor gyms nationally, including Adizones. Some local authorities, such as Greenwich and Camden, have created a network of these facilities within all their parks and are promoting them as a 'package'.

They can be supplied with a three year maintenance agreement and five years warranty.
