The
Sussex County Sports Partnership Trust is seeking to appoint a flexible,
innovative and committed physical activity, sports or health development
professional, to take a coordinating role in promoting physical activity
to under-represented groups across Sussex.
- With excellent communication skills and a motivation and enthusiasm
to effect change, the successful candidate will contribute to the
sporting and health legacy of the South East offer for the 2012
Games.
It is intended the successful candidate will develop and deliver
a range of physical activity opportunities across Sussex, with the
aim of increasing the number of people achieving the recommended levels
of physical activity. The role will focus on targeting under-represented
and hard-to-reach groups, those who are least active and communities
where health inequalities are prevalent.
The post holder will work with key partners and agencies including
primary care trusts, community groups, local authority leisure, and
transport and planning departments, facility providers, education
and other relevant bodies to develop a sustainable programme.
Applicants should have a degree in a related field and/or at least
two years sound physical activity or sports development knowledge
and experience, with a proven track record of achievements gained
by working in a physical activity, sports development, health or related
field.
