Kent International Sitting Volleyball Tournament
The weekend of the Tournament proved to be a great success with some
very competitive matches giving the crowd some thrilling moments.
The teams were from the UK, China, Holland and Hungary with the Mid
Kent Ashford Schools Sports Partnership staff/teachers/Gurkhas fielding
a team and also a team of injured service men taking part.
Group A and B matches were played on Saturday 4 July and each team
played four matches throughout the day.
- Group A: Team Volleer from Holland and Team Csakazert from Hungry
qualified for the semi-finals. Third in the group was the Mid Kent
& Ashford team with the retired Gurkhas who won two games. Fourth

in a very close match to take their place in the final. The
second semi-final was between Team Shanghai and the Hungarian team
Csakazert. Team Shanghai won by two sets to none, to take their place
in the final.
The final was on Sunday 5 July between the two group winners Team
Volleer and Team Shanghai with the match being very close but Team
Shanghai triumphed to take the title.
The two losing semi finalists Team Csakazert and Team Mikro Electric

For all the GB players it was good preparation for the European Championships
in September and we wish them success at the Championships.
