British Rowing offers five levels of Awards

Indoor Rowing

Dry Instructor's Award
The Dry Instructor's award is designed for coaches of participants on an indoor rowing machine.

Rowing on the water

The United Kingdom Coaching Certificate (UKCC) is a government initiative to improve the quality of coach education, and help to achieve parity of coaching levels across sports. For awards to be UKCC recognised, they must meet high levels of quality in their design, the materials used, and in delivery and assessment. British Rowing has achieved UKCC status for its awards for coaches of participants on the water.

United Kingdom Coaching Certificate (Rowing) Level 2

The Level 2 award replaces the Instructors Award (IA). The materials, course delivery and assessment have been substantially reviewed. The award is now targeted at beginner coaches and not just coaches of beginners, as it is the entry level award for those wishing to gain qualification of their on water coaching. The Level 2 Certificate qualifies coaches to prepare for, deliver and review coaching sessions.

United Kingdom Coaching Certificate (Rowing) Level 3
The Level 3 Certificate qualifies coaches to plan, implement, analyse and revise annual coaching programmes, and builds on practices learnt at Level 2.

United Kingdom Coaching Certificate (Rowing) Level 4
The Level 4 Certificate qualifies coaches to design, implement and evaluate the process and outcome of a long-term or specialist coaching programme.
