Partnerships originally developed nationally with funding from Sport England Lottery Fund - 2 were established at Angley School and Hayesbrook School
In February 2003 - the DfES gave LEAs an allocation of partnerships and requested an implementation plan with a designated/aspiring sports college at the hub
Kent initially allocated eleven SSPs; increased to 13 by the DfES following submission
Consultation with the Designated & Aspiring Sports Colleges produced a plan for Kent with 13 partnerships in place by Sept 2005 & 100% schools included in a partnership by Sept 2006
Planning done in the context of Education Development Plan, Secondary Strategy, other clustering arrangements and sports development strategies
