The Kent CPD focuses on providing those delivering PE and School Sport with high quality training to ensure that they can allow every young person in Kent to fulfill their full potential. For a list of all of the opportunities that are currently available for the next academic year (starting September 2010 follow this link for CPD details on the Advisory Service Kent website.

National CPD Programme

The programme aims to support the implementation of the high level targets within the overall PE and Sport Strategy for Young People outlined by the DCSF. The programme is designed to provide a tool for the PESSYP infrastructure of Specialist Sports Colleges and School Sports Partnerships to meet their aims in delivering the five hour offer.

The Consortium Management group has gained a 12 month extension to this area of work, taking it through to March 2009. Local Delivery Agencies (LDAs) have submitted delivery plans based on current perceived need around the three national priorities; KS1, KS4 and NQTs

Over the coming, and subsequent terms, LDAs will be focusing their attention on meeting the professional development of teachers and others in School Sports Partnerships. SSPs have a crucial role in identifying these needs and ensuring a cohesive, strategic approach to professional development.
