Table Tennis

What's it all about?

The English Table Tennis Association's vision for the sport is ‘making table tennis the most popular and successful indoor sport in England'.

Table Tennis is a racket sport played by either two opposing players (singles) or two opposing pairs (doubles). The game takes place on a hard rectangular table divided by a net. The winner is the first to 11 points with players alternating service every 2 points. If play should reach 10-10, players alternate every serve with the winner gaining 2 clear points.

In 1988 the sport became part of the Olympics and in 2002 joined the Commonwealth Games.
