Sports Volunteering in Kent
KCC Sports, Leisure and Olympics is focusing on the issues and priorities
of Sports Volunteering within related projects and programmes in both
the school and community settings. Developing the structure and provision
for sports clubs and individuals in Kent to enable them to raise,
identify and find solutions to issues they have concerning volunteering
at all levels.
- The pages in this section detail why you should become a volunteer,
what role you can play and how to get involved.
- If you represent a sports club or organisation you can find support
and guidance on how to recruit volunteers.
The KCC Sports, Leisure and Olympics volunteer programme is linking
with the volunteer centre network to coordinated volunteering within
sports clubs. The project currently has two main focuses:
- Breaking down the myth that you have to be sporty to volunteer
in a sports club
- Providing sports clubs with information and support to manage
the cycle of volunteers
Working in partnership with the volunteer centre network the ‘ Kent
eVent Team' has been established to help provide and recruit a workforce
of volunteers for events and one-off sport, leisure and cultural activities
across the county, for more detail look on the Kent
eVent Team page.
Although we cannot guarantee to fill all the volunteer roles your
club may have using this process will raise the profile of your organisation
within the 19 Volunteer Centres working with anyone actively seeking
volunteer opportunities in Kent.
