What’s it all about?

Canoeing and Kayaking or otherwise called Paddlesports can offer something for everyone. From calm steady paced touring on canal and placid waters to competitive sprint racing and facing the challenge of racing down raging torrents. From exploring fantastic coastal scenery by Sea Kayak to performing the ultimate play boat moves while ‘playing’ and ‘shredding’ the river. Paddlesports offers something for everyone young or old.

Canoeing is an Olympic sport and there are two types of Canoe and Kayak race at the Olympic Games – Flatwater (or Sprint) and Slalom. Both demand extreme endurance and highly specialised skills.

Go Canoeing is a Canoe England initiative aimed at opening up the sport to new participants. Go Canoeing Starter Sessions provide the perfect introduction. We can point you in the direction of your nearest club or centre and our Go Canoeing Guided Tours will introduce you to new and exciting places to paddle. When you have the confidence to set out on the water on your own, we can guide you through the process of picking up the right kit, getting your hands on a river licence and even showing you the best places to paddle with our range of Canoe Trails.
