What’s it all about?

Skateboarding is an action sport which involves riding and performing tricks using a skateboard.

People take part in Skateboarding as a recreational activity, an art form, a job, or even as a method of transportation.

Skateboard styles can be broadly divided into two different categories: skateboarding to perform tricks and skateboarding as a means of transportation. At a competitive level there is downhill skateboarding, slalom skateboarding and freestyle skateboarding.

The best place to go Skateboarding is a Skate Park. These are great places to improve your boarding skills as there are loads of other skaters to watch and get tips from.

As Skateboarding is becoming more recognised, Skate Parks are being built in local Parks and Recreation grounds. There are a number of Skate Parks already in place across the county, check out this directory to find one near you:

Skateboard England is a not-for-profit membership organisation run by skateboarders to support, grow & develop skateboarding in England and Wales. They offer a variety of membership options for skaters, coaches and supporters, as well as skate parks, schools and community groups.
